Construction of administrative offices, classrooms and staff ablution facilities at the Aussenkehr Primary School. In line with its specific objectives, the Trustees have decided to heed to some of the needs expressed in a letter by the Aussenkehr Principal and staff. In order to accommodate the growing number of learners at the school, it was decided to fund the construction of an additional classroom, as well as an office for the principal, a staff-room, an administration office and a reception area, in order to free up an additional classroom, which to date was used as the office for staff and administration purposes at the school. In addition to this, funding was also provided for construction of ablution facilities, which include four showers, toilets and handwash-basins for the 12 staff members and their immediate families, living near the school premises. Construction commenced during February 2012 and finishes to the classroom and ablution building were completed during the third week of June 2012. The school has been established in 2000, starting with grade 1 and a total of 61 learners and three teachers. Under the able management of current principal, Ms S Kadhikwa, the school now boasts 401 learners and 13 teachers. This vast increase in learner numbers necessitated the urgent expansion of the school’s infrastructure.
